Community

Giving back is important to us all so far this year we have nominated two ways in which we plan to give back to our community.

New Day Box

Over Christmas hundreds of women and children live in crisis accommodation and refuges in Victoria due to family violence. Survival becomes a priority, and while they focus on making Christmas special for their children, the mothers themselves are often forgotten.

Making a New Day Box is an easy way to send a message of support to a woman going through an extremely challenging time. Our goal is to remind women in crisis accommodation that even though we do not know them personally, we admire their courage and wish them happiness.

A new day box is a shoebox filled with new and unused cosmetics, beauty products, and non-meltable treats like lollies.

Carol Chin our Financial Controller has been supporting this charity for many years and is heading up our New Day Box Drive.

We are running a drive between now and Christmas to collect as many items or full shoe boxes to donate to New Day Box in December.

We are asking all staff, clients and people in our community to drop in any beauty products they may have at home to contribute to this initiative, if you don’t have anything at home next time you are at the shops why not throw a couple of extra items in your basket to give to this good cause.

We are hoping to put together 50 boxes by the end of November to take to the New Day Box head office for Christmas distribution.

KMART Wishing Tree

We really want to make Christmas day special for Mums, but we know that Mum’s are happiest when their kids are happy. Every year each staff member brings in a KK present to exchange at our CHristmas party and they also bring a wrapped gift for a child that we take to the KMART wishing tree. This year we invite any visitors to our office in December to bring a little gift to pop under our tree.
