David has a wealth of leadership and executive management experience, having held senior executive positions in several global beverage companies. During the past thirty years David has lived and worked in eight countries across four continents, leading profit growth, stakeholder engagement and employee satisfaction in all instances.

David’s career has seen him take on leadership roles at organisations including Treasury Wine Estates (former CEO) and Brown-Forman Wine Group (former President &COO), where he oversaw large-scale business restructuring for sustainable growth, organisational culture change, brand building for value and market share growth and the identification and seeding of new and emerging markets and channels.

Between July 2009 – September 2013 David was Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the wine business now known as Treasury Wine Estates Ltd (The world’s largest listed wine company), overseeing the de-merger of the business from Fosters Group Limited and the listing of TWE on the stock exchange in 2011.

Prior to this, David spent more than a decade at Brown-Forman Ltd holding a number of senior executive positions including Managing Director of Brown-Forman Beverages for Western Europe and Africa, President and COO of Brown-Forman Wine Group and Head of Human Recourses and Strategy.

Currently David is Managing Director and founder of Eastwind Consulting Pty Ltd, providing strategic, brand and financial advice for client’s predominately in the wine and spirits sector. David is also founding partner at Vintage Portfolio Partners an investment vehicle for acquiring, consolidating and growing a portfolio of premium wine estates.

David is a board and founder member at WineVineTV, a Non-Executive Board Member at Taylor’s Wine Group, Advisory Board Member of The Glass Stopper Company, Non-Executive Board Member at McQueen Financial Group and advisory/board member and investor in several start-up companies.
